School Age Childcare

All Norwich Family YMCA School Age programs provide a safe and caring environment for your child to enjoy a variety of activities throughout the year.  Our programs offer daily activities which include arts and crafts, games, sports, swimming, kid's gym, exergame room and much more.  Through our programs we promote YMCA core values of respect, caring, honest and responsibility.

Early Morning Program 

School Age children K-6th grade are invited to the YMCA before school.  Children are transported to their schools by the Norwich City School District.  This program is only available in Norwich.  Hours: 7:00 am - Bus pick up

Afterschool Program

Afterschool programming is available at three locations for school age children.  This program operates when school is in session.  We follow the Norwich City School District school calendar.

Location & Hours:

Norwich Family YMCA: PreK-6th grade Dismissal - 5:30 pm

Greene Intermediate and Primary Schools: K-5th grade Dismissal - 5:30 pm

Fun Club & Snow Days

We offer a full day program for school age children PreK-6th grade on days when Norwich City Schools are closed.  Days would include snow days, vacation days, and school holidays.  Children will need to bring backpacks, swim suits, towels, lunch, and sneakers.  The YMCA will provide morning and afternoon snack.  This program is held at the Norwich Family YMCA. Hours: 7:00 am - 5:30 pm.

Half Days

School Age children PreK-6th grade are invited to the YMCA for the afternoon when there is a half day at any local school district.  Norwich City School District children are transported to the YMCA, or parents may drop of their child when school lets out.   Hours: Dismissal - 5:30 pm
