We are an authorized provider for the American Red Cross to teach a variety of certification courses. The classes that we are currently able to teach are:
- CPR for the Professional Rescuer
- CPR for the Professional Rescuer Instructor
- First Aid/CPE/AED
- First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor
- Lifeguard Instructor
- Responding to Emergencies: First Aid (RTE for NYS Coaching and DOH Camp Requirement)

- Water Safety Instructor (WSI)
CPR for the Professional Rescuer
This course is designed for students who have a duty to act in an emergency. This course includes Adult, Child, Infant CPR, BVM, Two-Rescuer CPR and AED. This course will also include basic first aid. All students will receive an infant and adult mask and book. Students must be 15 prior to first day of class. Max 10 students per class.

CPR-PR Recert Classes: (all classes are schedule from 6:00-9:00 pm)
Cost: $55 members $75 non-members
This course includes lifeguarding, cpr for the professional rescuer and first aid. Students must be 15 by the first day of class. Each student will receive a book, infant and adult mask, hip pack and whistle. To be eligible for these course there is a prerequisite swim test, which is completed on the first day of the course. Max of 10 students per class.

Lifeguard Recert Classes: Cost: $100 per student
Must have current lifeguard certification that hasn't expired more than 30 days.

This course will teach students how to teach the lifeguarding course. Students must be 17 yrs. old and have a current American red cross lifeguard certification. Students must complete a 2 hour online training prior to the first day of class. There is a prerequisite skills test on the first day of class that will test the following skills: primary assessment, two-rescuer CPR, entries, approaches, surface dives, submerged victim, extrication and one-rescuer cpr. All other lifeguarding skills will be reviewed.

Water Safety Instructor
The purpose of this instructor course is to train instructor candidates to teach courses and presentations in the American Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety program including Parent & Child Aquatics, Preschool Aquatics, Learn-To-Swim, Adult Swim, Private Lessons, Water Safety Courses (including Safety Training for Swim Coaches) and Water Safety Presentations. This is a BLENDED LEARNING CLASS, online time: 6 hours 45 minutes & class time: 23 hours 30 minutes.
Be at least 16 years old on or before the last day of the Instructor Course
Demonstrate the ability to perform the following swimming skills:
- Swim the following strokes consistent with the Stroke Performance Charts, Level 4:
- Front Crawl - 25 yards
- Back Crawl - 25 yards
- Breaststroke - 25 yards
- Elementary Backstroke - 25 yards
- Sidestroke - 25 yards
- Butterfly - 15 yards
- Maintain Position on back for 1 minute in deep water (floating or sculling)
- Tread water for 1 minute

*We are collaborating with Upstate Aquatics to offer this American Red Cross Course. Upstate Aquatics reserves the right, based on the instructor candidate's swimming ability, to opt to provide a less refined swimmer, the option to become a Basic Swimming Instructor during the Water Safety Instructor class. According to the NYS Department of Health, either a Basic Swimming Instructor or a Water Safety Instructor meets the requirements for Progressive Swim Instructor; a Progressive Swim Instructor is the individual who provides swim assessment at Day and Resident Camps.
