In Life and Swimming:
"A great deal depends upon the thought patterns we choose and
on the persistence
with which we affirm them.
And a great deal depends upon the breath patterns we choose and
on the persistence
with which we maintain them."
(adapted from Pierro Ferrucci)
It is a mission of the YMCA Dolphins to enhance the experience of each swimmer, by promoting opportunity for all; protecting our athletes' wellbeing; and fostering a positive athlete image... while maintaining the tenants of the YMCA philosophy.
~ Respect ~ Caring ~ Honesty ~ Responsibility ~
Athletic participation is an educationally purposeful activity which embraces and instills positive ideals. The principles of integrity, good-will, and excellence guide swimmers and coaches in their efforts to represent themselves, the Dolphins and the YMCA, and their community at all times. Our vision is of a program recognized for integrity, honesty, strength and caring in athletic and community pursuits; a program dedicated to the equitable, efficient and responsible use of its resources in providing opportunity for the growth and development of all participants.

Greetings and Welcome to Dolphins Swimming!
I look forward to helping build a happy, healthy future for our age-group swim community. With returning Coaches, Sarah Wilson and Steve Tworkowsky, our new coach, Ashley Collier, and aquatics director, Krista Sheridan, we have an exciting opportunity for continuity of respect, caring, dedication and skill... within this program and it's community! To this end, we are all -youths and adults alike- examples to our swim community in what we do and say. With our example, we are demonstrating what is acceptable, and what will be required, of each participating individual. Truly making strong kids, families and communities- in mind, body and spirit -our priority.
For the future,
Marcy
Why we swim: "It's not about scholarships, recruitment, or making the olympics. It's a deep need of the heart. We need to train, to push, to breath, to sweat, to reach, to rejoice... and we do it as a collective-a unique tribe, so few understand."
(adapted from Alumnus Sean Sornsin Cornell)

- May 4: The season is over and our year is winding to a close. A few final reminders...
- The swim team banquet is Sunday, May 16th at 1:00 pm at the YMCA. We'll have a potluck (dish to pass) luncheon followed by the awards program. Each swim family is asked to bring a dish to pass. If you have more than one swimmer and are planning to bring other family members, you may want to consider contributing two dishes so there will be enough food for all who attend.
