The Norwich Family YMCA Nursery School and Preschool is designed to meet the needs of a very important part of our population – our future citizens and leaders! We have designed programs that encourage children to explore, inquire and attempt to solve the many problems and questions they have – in essence, to learn by doing. We want to instill in them a lifelong love of learning. The classroom program provides each child with age-appropriate experiences that encourage self-help skills, a positive self-image, language and communication skills, positive social interaction, large and small motor development, school readiness skills and creative expression. To accomplish this we enjoy many interesting books, songs, calendar time, movement to music, science ‘experiments,’ hands-on math activities, art projects, and healthy snacks.
